Kristen Faia has been in the real estate industry for 19 years and with Equity Office for the past seven in various property management roles, most recently as General Manager. Prior to joining Equity Office, she was a Property Manager and Operations Manager for Seaport Asset Management in Boston and also previously was an Assistant Property Manager for R.M. Bradley & Co., Inc. in Boston. Kristen holds a Bachelor's degree from Regis College in Weston, MA and is a LEED Green Associate certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and a Real Property Administrator certified by the BOMI Institute. This is her third year as part of the Muscle Team® committee, and her second year as Coach of the event.

Urshula S. Patel

Vice President, Lake Contracting, Inc.

Urshula has been a key member of the Lake Contracting executive team since 1995. As Vice President she often brings her expertise in high end interior renovations for real estate management companies as well as legal, financial and private firms, providing overall management for multiple projects and developing new business opportunities.

Urshula regularly works with representatives from clients as well as Lake Contracting’s architecture and engineering partners, supervising a project’s total construction effort to ensure that it is built to design specifications, within budget and on schedule. In addition, Urshula is the Lake Contracting executive in charge of marketing strategy, overseeing the company’s public relations, advertising and online efforts.

Urshula holds a Bachelor of Science from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and also studied at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Tara Goodwin Frier

Tara Goodwin Frier brings to her firm more than 25 years of media relations, public affairs and public policy experience. Frier oversees the strategic direction of all client accounts and over the years has worked with large and small companies to increase visibility, create demand for products and services and grow bottom lines. Whether planning a large corporate event or navigating a client through the uncharted waters of a crisis situation, Frier is known as a leader who provides open and honest counsel and helps clients develop the infrastructure to sustain successful communications programs.

Before starting the company, she served as Vice President of Edelman Public Relations’ Boston office where she managed an active portfolio of clients, and executed Boston media strategies for Edelman’s national and international accounts including: IDA Singapore; Barnes & Noble; Belgian energy company, Tractebel, Inc.; Schering-Plough; Morgan Stanley; JAFCO Ventures and YouthBuild U.S.A.

Frier was also the lead strategist for the state’s education reform (MCAS) campaign. Her contributions to Barnes & Noble’s Close the Book on Hate campaign helped Edelman score a Silver Saber award for best retail marketing initiative. She was named one of Boston’s Top 10 PR specialists in 2006 and 2009 by Women’s Business Boston.

Prior to her work at Edelman, Frier served as chief of staff of the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development where she managed a staff of 250 and a budget of $450 million. In addition, she worked to develop an affordable housing policy designed to help alleviate the Massachusetts housing crisis, wrote and edited all agency RFP’s, managed contractors and served as a member of the Governor’s Commission on Domestic Violence. She was named one of Women’s Business Boston’s “Top 10 PR Specialists” in 2006 and 2009 and was a 2011 nominee for PR Person of the Year by Biz Bash.

Jojo Gutfarb

JoJo Gutfarb joined the Goodwin PR Team in October, 2011 and works with both the national and local press on behalf of clients while also specializing in both event publicity and the increasingly important world of social media. Gutfarb has spent time over the past five years working in various public relations roles for high-profile clients and several nonprofit events. For several years, she worked with the New England Patriots focusing on media relations, and has worked with the NFL public relations team as a Super Bowl staffer. She is an alumna of Mount Holyoke College where she majored in Mass Media & Society and also captained the Varsity Equestrian Team.

Brian brings over 25 years of experience in the Mechanical Contracting Industry to the team. He worked his way up through his apprenticeship to become a Journeyman, Foreman and Instructor in HVAC. Brian went on to earn his Associate’s degree in Industrial Training and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor Studies and Labor Education.

Brian served two terms as Business Agent and is now the current Business Manager/Financial Secretary-Treasurer of Pipefitters Local 537 in Boston and Vice President of the New England States Pipe Trades Association. He also serves as the Co-Chairman of the Pension, Health & Welfare, Annuity and Educational Trust Funds.

Paul joined Walsh Mechanical Contractors in 1999 and serves as Vice President, General Manager and Director of Business Development for the full service Mechanical Contractor. Paul is a current member of the National and New England Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' Association and the Mechanical Contractor Association of America (MCAA). Paul is responsible for the strategic direction and continuous improvement of all phases of Walsh Mechanical’s construction operations. Paul has a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Walsh, established in 1918, remains an Industry Leader in Mechanical Construction and has been a proud supporter of MDA-Boston for 10+ years. Paul and Walsh Mechanical are proud to be strong supporters of MDA-Boston’s mission to improve the quality of life for children living with muscular dystrophy.

Tracey Nicholson

Tracey Nicholson brings over 20 years of Commercial Real Estate experience to Oxford Properties, a Global Real Estate Company, where she currently is a General Manager. Tracey is responsible for creating and executing long term strategic business plans, team development, and is a relationship builder with success in promoting collaboration. Prior to joining Oxford Properties, she was a General Manager at Equity Office, and started her career at R.M. Bradley as a Financial Analyst.

Heather brings over 12 years of design and project management experience to the Dyer Brown building services team. Over the past 10 years with Dyer Brown, Heather has worked extensively with various property management companies in Boston designing tenant space as well as completing building upgrades and lobby renovations. Heather has provided ongoing services for Equity Office Properties since 2006, working on more than 200,000 RSF of new and renovated space ranging from minor finishes and furniture upgrades in occupied space to full floor renovations. She has also worked extensively for large landlord clients assisting them with tenant fit plans, leasing diagrams, and other leasing support services, as well as full tenant build out projects and common area upgrades.

Heather has a Bachelor of Science degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Interior Design, is a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional and is NCDIQ Certified.

Joanne Meirovitz
Joanne Meirovitz

Joanne has over 30 years experience as a designer and illustrator. After graduating from Brandeis University with a major in painting and printmaking, she did freelance work in Vermont and Boston. She then worked for Lotus Development Corp. for 10 years as an illustrator, user interface designer and project manager for various software and web applications.

In 1999 Joanne formed JM Design Inc. The company offered a full range of design services, including website design & development, illustration, user interface design for software & web applications, icon creation, and graphic design. She dissolved the company at the end of 2014.

In 2006 Joanne became involved with Muscle Team® Boston by volunteering to design and develop their website. She has continued to serve on this committee, revising and maintaining their website each year.
